“The services that we offer at FORWARD impact communities near and far. I love working with and in the community to bring awareness to local organizations that can help underserved community members.” – Danielle Wright, Community Partner Manager at FORWARD

Danielle is a Community Partner Manager at FORWARD and works to ensure that programs administered by FORWARD are community-centric by developing relationships with local community-based organizations.

What did you do before working at FORWARD?

I worked as a Public Benefits Specialist for the State of WA’s Washington State Department of Social and Health Services for 15 years where I supported underserved communities across Washington state access benefits. On top of that, I have been a small business owner for 20+ years and currently own a shoe store in Downtown Tacoma where I sell fantastic men’s and women’s shoes and accessories.

What are your job responsibilities?

I manage the Community Partner Team at FORWARD, which develops relationships with local community-based organizations to ensure that the programs FORWARD administers are as community-minded as possible. My role is to build and manage those community relationships by establishing onboarding, training, and accountability processes while maintaining a thoughtful and collaborative relationship with our community-based partners. Community partners play an important role in our work as they are trusted messengers for the community and are essential in ensuring that the most underserved have equitable access to resources.

What challenges do you face in your work?

What to bring to a virtual Happy Hour!

What makes you excited to come to work each day?

The services that we offer at FORWARD impact communities near and far. I love working with and in the community to bring awareness to local organizations that can help underserved community members.

Are there any achievements or successes in your work that you would like to highlight?

I enjoy bringing people together and making the remote workspace at FORWARD as if it was like an office workspace. Also, I like building and maintaining relationships with my work family because it is important to me to have a healthy work/life balance.

Thank you for all you do to help communities move FORWARD, Danielle!
